From time-to-time it actually happens -- a rejected score gets released! From the evil, evil red hands of studios (i.e. disney), a score escapes. Usually the main labels are FilmScoreMonthly or Varese Sarabande, but whom ever does it, it's allways a good thing and saving a piece of music history from rotting away.

This first section is sepcifically for commercially released CDs. and please, if any links don't work, inform me. Also, if you found a link to a reputable dealer for a CD that doesn't have a purchase link here, let me know.

PROMOS

Sometimes composers put out CDs of their rejected scores, or contains cues, and whether or not it gets sold someplace, like Intrada Records, it gets out there and that is what matters, since Gabriel Yared has gotten almost nothing but priase for "Troy", and I personally believe he deserved every single ounce.

Composers should look upon using their replaced scores on promos as a way to promote their music, because a score is a score by another other name, no matter how much it bothers them or hurts (sorry, Ottman [think about releasing "Stardust", please])
